Transient Hyperthyroidism Induced by Thyroid Ultrasound

Abstract: We believe this is the first report of a euthyroid individual who developed hyperthyroidism caused by thyroid ultrasonography. We hypothesize that pressure from the ultrasound probe during the examination compressed her large nodules, releasing stored hormone.
