Transgenetic algorithm

Abstract: Transgenetic algorithms are evolutionary computing techniques based on living processes where cooperation is the main evolutionary strategy. Those processes contain the movement of genetic material between living beings and endosymbiotic interactions. With the objective of having a better approximation between the proposed metaphor and the reality the algorithm also considers intracellular mechanisms of genetic information transposition and the quorum sensing, that is, the bacteria's ability for communicating … Show more

“…The Transgenetic computational technique that uses concepts of evolution of living beings using genetic transmission through intracellular pathways and epigenetics has also been used as a technique to solve the PMPPURP (Goldbarg, Gouvêa and Melo, 2002;Goldbarg et al, 2010). They proposed a transgenetic algorithm, called ProtoG, that builds a database containing good quality sub-routes selected from an initial population composed of valid routes to the problem, and during the execution of the algorithm, the database is updated whenever better solutions are found.…”
