Transformation Pathways in Colloidal CdTeSe Magic‐Size Clusters

Abstract: Ararely studied transformation in colloidal ternary magic-size clusters (MSCs) is addressed. We report the first observation of the transformation from ternary CdTeSe MSC-399 to MSC-422, whichoccurs at room temperature. These two MSC types displaysharp optical absorption resonances at 399 and 422 nm, respectively, and are related in that they are quasi isomers, together with their counterpart precursor compounds (PCs). Binary CdTea nd CdSe samples were prepared in the prenucleation stage also called the induction… Show more

“…This method has been widely used in the accurate synthesis of a variety of clusters, such as III-V semiconductor nanocrystals, 41,42 noble metal clusters [43][44][45][46][47] and sulfide nanocrystals. 48,49 Note that the surface initiation reaction of clusters is the key to transformation synthesis, which opens up more possibilities for cluster precursor transformation and assembly. Previously, isolated MCSCs were sporadically reported to be used as reactants to build new open frameworks or construct new metal doped isolated MCSCs.…”
