“…171 Additionally, there is ongoing investigation into utilizing other waste materials from various industries for the synthesis and modication of zeolites, with the aim of increasing their adsorption capacity. 170,[172][173][174] Natural zeolites are highly promising materials for removing heavy metals from various sources that contaminate water. The unique properties of natural zeolites, such as ease of ion exchange, adsorption, dehydration, and rehydration, as well as their eco-friendliness, low cost, regenerability, accessibility, and availability, make them an excellent choice as adsorbents for removing heavy metal ions from wastewater.…”

“…Natural soil resource is almost zero-cost with huge stock, in which the abundant Si and Al components could be used to constitute zeolite frameworks. Meanwhile, the Fe composition from soil could modify zeolite performance, improving adsorption and redox chemistry capacity to detoxify the muti-valent heavy metal ions. , Considering the wide distribution of natural soil resources, using soils as raw materials for zeolite synthesis is the best choice with no geographical limitation. Besides, if the soils near polluted areas or even contaminated soil could be in-situ-transformed into zeolite materials directly for soil remediation, it would significantly improve the remediation flexibility and reduce transportation fees and after-costs.…”

Besides, if the soils near polluted areas or even contaminated soil could be in-situ-transformed into zeolite materials directly for soil 1, we have collected 12 kinds of typical natural soils from different areas of China and used them as raw materials for zeolite synthesis.…”

“…At present, the remediation methods of oil‐polluted soil include physical, chemical, biological and combined remediation 8 . Limited by the high energy consumption of physical remediation and the slow process of bioremediation, chemical remediation is favored by researchers and has been widely used for in‐situ remediation of groundwater and soil.…”
