“…According to Perrin et al, 6 the subjective symptoms that predominate in shoulder instability are apprehension and lack of confidence to perform activities of daily living and sports. 7 These subjective symptoms lead to a decrease in participation in activities by patients, resulting in a negative impact on their quality of life. 6 Therefore, subjective clinical evaluation methods are important when used along with physical examination, having in mind the patient's opinion about his or her condition.…”

“…Consequently, a significantly reduced postoperative range of motion could be related to the presence of an excessive fibrous remodeling of the capsulolabral tissue, resulting in decreased external rotation in the revision group, as recently stated. 33 Regarding postoperative osteoarthritis, we found an overall rate of glenohumeral osteoarthritis of 46.4%, which was higher in the revision surgery group, although differences were not significant. In our series, the rate of osteoarthritis was higher compared with other comparative studies with similar follow-ups 22,23 ; however, in those studies, the severity of osteoarthritis was assessed using simple radiographs.…”

“…Compared with previous studies reporting the results of the open Latarjet procedure for shoulder instability in patients with epilepsy, satisfactory objective clinical postoperative results were obtained in our series according to the Rowe score. 23 The validity of this finding is supported by subjective patient-reported outcomes using the WOSI 26 and SANE 14 scores, as well as by the comparison with a matched control on the Constant score. 5 These differences between our results and those previously reported may well be due to potential differences in the cohorts of patients.…”

“…Clinical outcomes at a minimum of 2 years of postoperative follow-up included objective evaluation using the Rowe and Constant-Murley Shoulder Outcome (CMSO) scores, 5,23 as well as patient-reported outcome subjective assessment following the Spanish validated version of the Western Ontario Shoulder Instability Index (WOSI) and the Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE). 14,26 Rowe and WOSI scores were collected pre- and postoperatively, while CMSO and SANE scores were collected only postoperatively. Surgical procedures were performed by the same senior surgeon and in the same facility where the surgical technique and postoperative management protocol were standardized for all patients.…”
