Abstract: The pathogen Verticillium dahliae causes Verticillium wilt in a number of crops, including cotton Verticillium wilt. Chaetoviridin A, a secondary metabolite of Chaetomium globosum, significantly inhibits the growth of V. dahliae. Spore germination is a major part of the disease cycle.
