Transcriptome analysis based on RNA-seq of common innate immune responses of flounder cells to IHNV, VHSV, and HIRRV

Abstract: Viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV) and hirame rhabdovirus (HIRRV) belong to the genus Novirhabdovirus and are the causative agents of a serious disease in cultured flounder. However, infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV), a prototype of the genus Novirhabdovirus, does not cause disease in flounder. To determine whether IHNV growth is restricted in flounder cells, we compared the growth of IHNV with that of VHSV and HIRRV in hirame natural embryo (HINAE) cells infected with novirhabdoviruses at … Show more

“…An important gene we found was Tripartite motif-containing 33-like ( TRIM33L ), a gene that codes for a nuclear protein that associates with specific DNA-binding transcription factors to modulate gene expression. This gene has been cataloged as an essential for macrophage and neutrophil mobilization in response to inflammatory recruitment signals, including bacterial infections (Demy et al, 2017) and viremias (Kim et al, 2020). TRIM33L was previously detected in a wssGWAS analysis for economically-important traits in rainbow trout (Gonzalez-Pena et al, 2016).…”
