Abstract: Preoperative embolization of hypervascular tumors is a standard practice among most developed nations. In this article, the background, technique, benefits, and risks of embolization of the major vascular tumors of the head and neck, primarily paragangliomas, angiofibromas, and meningiomas are reviewed.
