Abstract: Minimally invasive atrial septal defect closure and tricuspid annuloplasty in female patients are normally performed through a right submammary anterior minithoracotomy approach. However, when the aortic root is located higher, the direction of aortic cannulation becomes not ideal through the submammary incision. In such cases, transareolar approach is useful.
