Transactional approach in assessment of operational performance of companies in transport infrastructure

Abstract: Abstract:Purpose: Offer an alternative method to assess operational performance of companies in transport infrastructure of a region by making a comparison between transaction costs. The method is supposed to be a cross-functional and possibly applied to an analysis of economic entities of a different order (country, region, sector, companies) while evaluating "viscosity" / complexity of the outside and the inside.Design/methodology/approach: The paper includes an analysis of various methodological approaches … Show more

“…For the most part, analytical studies in this area boil down to the analysis of the current situation in individual industries [6,7], regions [8][9][10] and the economy as a whole [11], as well as to the construction of econometric models and interpretation of the dependencies found for further adjustments to industrial policy. However, such models practically do not take into account, firstly, the nonlinear behavior of economic systems and, secondly, the presence of causal relationships between individual indicators of these systems.…”

“…The subject of the problem is also described by Roumboutsos, Voordijk and Pantelias (2015). The problems of transport and its related aspects are further solved by Dubrovsky, Yaroshevich and Kuzmin (2016), who deal with the operational efficiency of transport companies with regard to the condition of transport infrastructure and its quality and density, which have consequences for other interested economic subjects. Newman and Kenworthy (2015) examine the possibilities of planning new transport routes and infrastructure in general with regard to its sustainability in the context of future development.…”
