Abstract: La constipation chronique est un symptôme fré-quent. Les traitements disponibles, en vente libre ou sur prescription médiale, sont nombreux mais satisfont de manière insuffisante de nombreux patients. De nombreuses idées fausses persistent dans l'esprit des patients mais aussi de nombreux médecins pouvant conduire à des recommandations thérapeutiques inefficaces allant contre la médecine basée sur les preuves.
