Training Psychologists for Changing Schools

Abstract

Consideration of how psychologists can be trained to meet the needs of today's schools must include at least brief reference to how and why schools are changing. Changing schools reflect a changing society. This paper presents, selectively, societal changes that seem to be impinging upon Education; then, how these changes affect psychologists' practice in an Educational setting. Next, implicatons of these changes upon the training of professionals are discussed. Last, a training program that is attempting to act upon these implica tions is described.
