Abstract: Large-scale changes in the social and economic spheres of Russian society revealed the demands for managers with non-standard thinking and a high cultural level. Specific and ambiguous processes in politic, economic and social spheres in different parts of the world have general trends reflecting the evolution of global civilization.

Araştırmada okul yöneticilerinin mesleki gelişimlerini sağlamak amacıyla neler yaptıkları, mesleki gelişimin önündeki engelleri, hangi konularda mesleki gelişime ihtiyaç duydukları ve sürdürülebilir mesleki gelişimleri ile ilgili önerileri ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda araştırma nitel araştırma desenlerinden fenomenoloji (olgubilim) deseni ile tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu maksimum çeşitlilik örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 19 okul yöneticisinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada katılımcıların çeşitliliği yaş, branş, okul kademesi, öğrenim durumu, yönetimdeki görevi, öğretmenlikteki mesleki kıdemi, okul yöneticiliği görev süresi, okul yöneticiliğine ilişkin eğitimlere katılıp katılmadığı gibi kriterler aracılığı ile sağlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sürecinde yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığı ile toplanan verilerin değerlendirilmesi içerik analizi yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı doğrultusunda araştırmacılar tarafından yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu hazırlanmıştır. Görüşme formu araştırmaya katılan okul yöneticilerinin kişisel bilgilerinin yer aldığı bölüm ile 6 açık uçlu sorunun yer aldığı iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda okul yöneticileri mesleki gelişimleri konusunda çoğunlukla hizmet içi eğitimlere katıldığını belirtmişlerdir. Mesleki gelişim etkinliklerinin yönetim becerilerini geliştirme açısından kendilerine, olumlu okul iklimi ve etkili örgütsel iletişim açısından okula katkıları olduğunu ifade etmişlerdir. İş yükü yoğunluğunun mesleki gelişimlerine katılım konusunda kendilerine engel oluşturduğunu ve iletişim becerilerini geliştirme konusunda mesleki gelişim etkinliklerine ihtiyaç duyduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Sürdürülebilir mesleki gelişim için ise daha sık, daha çok sayıda ve ihtiyaca yönelik hizmet içi eğitimlerin gerçekleştirilmesi gerektiğini önermektedirler.
