This paper aims to examine Factors Affecting Small and Micro Enterprise Performance with the Mediating Effect of Government Support; Evidence from Amhara Region Ethiopia. This study used both qualitative and quantitative research methodology. The proposed research model used a Structural equation model, growth path modeling analysis, and correlation matrix. The study also used both primary and secondary data sources. The study employed 384 determined entrepreneur leader and employee respondents through purposive sampling techniques and simple random sampling to estimate the required clusters. The findings of the study show that the mediating role of government support affects the independent variables by 0.971 *** enterprise performance. Moreover, the independent variables entrepreneur competence, 0.841 ***, microfinance, =0.714 **, infrastructure, 0.861 ** and entrepreneur training 0.831 ** have a positive and significant impact on enterprise performance. Microfinance and entrepreneur training are major factors that influence the enterprises’ performance next to the mediating role of government support. Therefore, the Small and micro enterprise besides government supporting role have gaps in enterprises’ performance due to lack of long-term loans, access to lease machines, unfair interest rates, production and selling the place, shortage of defining SMEs, and structural limitations. To solve currently existing limitations, the regional government should take policy measures to supply long-term loan financing, access to lease machines, fair interest rate, and working and selling places through a cluster management approach, re-define and restructure the existing SMEs strategy. This study suggests to executives, policymakers, SMEs, and microfinance to use the for enterprises’ performance based on the proposed recommendation. Further research should be conducted for knowledge gap of the field in the study area.

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are the core of modern economic life that is very important for economic development in Indonesia, so the government seeks to empower SMEs. Bluto - Sumenep has many SMEs but is difficult to develop. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of SMEs in Bluto related to the success of their business in relation to education, skills and funds. Questionnaires were used to obtain data from 100 entrepreneurs. The result of correlation analysis shows that there is no relationship between business success with education, skill and fund. This result proves the unique phenomenon of the mindset of the Bluto people who consider that "being an employee is the main one, and the certificate is more important than the skill." The duties of society and government change the mindset of the Bluto people through approach and socialization.

This case study can be taught at the MBA level. Case overview This case study can serve as the base for understanding and identifying the various characteristics that relate to revolutionizing HR functions with the help of digitalization. It can also be elaborated further to include the challenges that a company has to face after it decides to establish IT software based on operations. This case is an evolutionary story of a large-scale Pakistani company, Pak Electron Ltd. (PEL) which has been in operation for almost 60 years. The top management decided to move from a traditional administrative system towards setting up an HR department for the first time. The case states the salient features of the traditional administrative system, issues faced by the company in the setup of a new HR system and digital HR system along with the employees’ views and perceptions on these systems. Expected learning outcomes Students are expected to learn the following: the various characteristics of a paper-file based traditional administrative system; the various features of an IT-based modern HR system; the decision background and basis for making the switch to the new contemporary HR system; and the reaction of employees against changes in organizational systems.
