Abstract-We are experiencing an explosion in the amount of sensors measuring our activities and the world around us. These sensors are spread throughout the built environment and can help us perform state estimation and control of related systems, but they are often built and/or maintained by third parties or system users. As a result, by outsourcing system measurement to third parties, the controller must accept their measurements without being able to directly verify the sensors' correct operation. Instead, detection and rejection of measurements from faulty sensors must be done with the raw data only. Towards this goal, we present a method of detecting possibly faulty behavior of sensors. The method does not require that the control designer have any model of faulty sensor behavior. As we discuss, it turns out that the widelyused particle filter state estimation algorithm provides the ingredients necessary for a hypothesis test against all ranges of correct operating behavior, obviating the need for a fault model to compare measurements. We demonstrate the applicability of our method by showing its ability to reject faulty measurements and accuracy in state estimation of a nonlinear vehicle traffic model, without information of generated faulty measurements' characteristics. In our test, we correctly identify nearly 90% of measurements as faulty or non-faulty without having any fault model. This leads to only a 3% increase in state estimation error over a theoretical 100%-accurate fault detector.

Abstrak. Kebutuhan transportasi yang terus meningkat akan diikuti oleh perkembangan kawasan perkotaan. Ketika tuntutan transportasi lebih tinggi dari infrastruktur transportasi yang tersedia, maka akan menimbulkan beberapa permasalahan seperti kemacetan lalu lintas, kecelakaan, tundaan, kebisingan dan polusi udara. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kinerja dan tingkat keselamatan persimpangan di pusat kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kinerja jalan berdasarkan Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia dengan tiga tahap: pertama, menganalisis kinerja persimpangan jalan untuk kondisi eksisting dan lima tahun ke depan. Kedua, membandingkan kinerja jalan dan persimpangan dengan standar. Ketiga, menganalisis kinerja jalan dan persimpangan setelah penerapan manajemen lalu lintas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen lalu lintas yang tepat untuk diterapkan di Jalan Basuki Rahmat adalah alternatif 1 dari manajemen pembatasan, seperti penerapan sistem satu arah untuk seluruh segmen dan dilengkapi dengan jalur angkutan umum yang dapat meningkatkan tingkat pelayanan secara keseluruhan di Jalan Basuki Rahmat, serta memenuhi tingkat pelayanan yang ideal untuk jalan arteri sekunder.Katakunci: Manajemen-lalulintas; Desain-jalan; Persimpangan; Pusat-kota; Kota-Malang [Title: Improvement on Intersection Performance and Safety in The Center of Malang]. The needs of transportation increase along with the urban development area. When the transport demand is higher than the availability of infrastructure, it causes some problems such as traffic jam, accident, delay, noise and air pollution. The main purpose of the research is to improve the performance and the safety level of the intersection in the city centre of Malang. The research used street performance analysis based on Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual with three steps: first, analyzing street intersection's performance for the existing condition and the next five years; second, comparing street and intersection's performance with the existing standard, and. third, analyzing the performance of street and intersection after the application of traffic management. The result showed that an appropriate traffic management applied in Basuki Rahmat Street is the first alternative of the demand management, such as the application of the one-way system for the whole segments and it is equipped by public transport lanes which can increase the level of service of the whole segments in Basuki Rahmat Street, as well as meet the level of service that has been ideal for the secondary arterial roads.
