Kawasan perumahan Kota Baru Parahyangan yang terletak di kecamatan Padalarang Bandung memiliki kualitas dan cakupan layanan seluler 3G dan 4G yang tidak optimal, sehingga hal ini menjadi keluhan para pelanggan kepada pihak provider seluler. Oleh sebab itu pada artikel ini didesain camouflage tower atau Outdoor Distributed Antenna System (ODAS) yang merupakan sebuah konsep unik dalam membantu penyediaan konektivitas di lokasi tertentu dimana pembangunan tower konvensional tidak diizikan karena berbagai regulasi. Desain camouflage tower ini bertujuan untuk menambah jumlah antena seluler namun dengan biaya, lahan dan sumber daya manusia yang minimalis. Selain itu, desain camouflage tower ini memiliki nilai estetika yang tinggi untuk diimplementasikan di kawasan perumahan elite tersebut. Dari hasil desain dan implementasi untuk 4G diperoleh nilai Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) sebesar 70 % pada nilai > -90 dBm dan Signal-to-Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) 70% pada nilai > 5 dB sesuai dengan standar Key Performance Indicator (KPI) provider. Sedangkan untuk 3G diperoleh nilai Received Signal Code Power (RSCP) sebesar 70% pada nilai > -78 dBm dan Ec/No > -12 dB. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas dan cakupan layanan seluler baik 3G maupun 4G di kawasan ini telah mencapai target provider seluler. Kata kunci: 3G, 4G, camouflage tower, kota baru parahyangan bandungAbstract-Kota Baru Parahyangan residential area, located in Padalarang sub-district of Bandung, has the quality and coverage of 3G and 4G cellular services that are not optimal, thus it has become a complaint of customers to the cellular providers. Therefore in this article a camouflage tower or Outdoor Distributed Antenna System (ODAS) is designed, which is a unique concept that helps in prividing connectivity in location where conventional tower construction is not permitted due to various regulations. This camouflage tower design aims to increase the number of cellular antennas but with minimal costs, land and human resources. In addition, this camouflage tower design has a high aesthetic value to be implemented in these elite residential areas. From the design and implementation results for 4G, the Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) value is 70% at a value> -90 dBm and Signal-to-Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) 70% at a value> 5 dB according to the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) provider standard, while for 3G the Received Signal Code Power (RSCP) value is 70% at a value> -78 dBm and Ec / No> -12 dB. This shows that the quality and coverage both of 3G and 4G cellular services in this region have reached the target cellular providers.

Recently, data demand has grown explosively due to tremendous growth in cellular traffic. To meet the user's data requirement, Small cells (SCs) have been overlaid with existing macro cell (MC) leading to heterogeneity to the network. Although SCs enhances system throughput, to find the required number of SCs and energy efficiency of such network is of concern for vendors. Looking at the real‐world scenario of user's distribution in a geographical area, authors consider the SCs (eg, Picocells) deployment as uniform or cluster based (user‐density and k‐means). The work considers uniform deployment of SCs modeled as homogeneous Poisson Point Process (PPP) and user clusters are considered for user‐density‐based and k‐means‐based deployment. The locations for SCs is considered in the cell boundaries and hotspot regions where user density is highly consistent, huge gathering takes place, mobility is seldom and data demand is high such as at railway stations, shopping malls, working farms and organization, etc. The downlink performances in terms of average user throughput, system capacity and network energy efficiency for these three deployments of SC base‐stations in a heterogeneous network are explored. User distributions are modeled by adopting Cox process (also known as doubly stochastic poison process) and cluster process in the heterogeneous network operating area. It is observed that energy efficiency in terms of bps per watt decreases after a certain number of SCs for uniform and k‐means‐based deployment. The results show better performance for user‐density‐based SCs deployment compared to uniform and k‐means one.
