Traditional knowledge for modern ailments – plants used for the treatment of diabetes and cancer in Northern Peru

Abstract: Various cancers and tumorous conditions were treated by healers. A total of 47 plant species belonging to 42 genera and 30 families were documented and identified as anti-cancer and anti-diabetic herbal remedies in Northern Peru, with 31 plants used for diabetes treatment and 17 species used for conditions identified by local healers as cancer.
