Trade Unions and Informal Workers' Associations in the Urban Informal Economy of Ecuador

Abstract: In the course of this investigation, government public servants, mostly in the Ministry of Labour, were also interviewed. Their views on the issue of voice and representation of informal workers are not reflected in this paper, since more information would be needed to include these perspectives.10 This was the case for the Federación de Comerciantes Minoristas de las Bahías in Guayaquil and the Coordinadora de política de mujeres in Quito.
