Abstract:We propose a tractor atom interferometer (TAI) based on three-dimensonal tight confinement and transport of split atomic wavefunction components in programmable tractor traps. Using Crank-Nicolson simulations of scalar and spinor wavefunction evolution, we confirm validity of the path-integral formalism over the pre-determined tractor-trap trajectories in several examples, quantify projected gravimeter sensitivity, and study robustness of scalar and spinor TAI matter-wave splitters against non-adiabatic effect… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
