Abstract:At the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL), secondary beams of often short-lived radioactive nuclei are produced by the technique of projectile fragmentation where a primary beam impinges on a thin target to produce a broad spectrum of isotopes with nearbeam velocity.
