Tracheostomy dependence following “organ preservation” (chemo)radiation protocol for laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers

Abstract: Background Patients receiving primary (chemo)radiotherapy for laryngeal or hypopharyngeal cancer risk developing severe laryngeal dysfunction and becoming tracheostomy dependent, detracting from the benefits of organ preservation.
