Trace metal analysis of rocks and sediments by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy

Abstract: An accurate and precise method for the determination of seven common trace metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, and Zn) in rocks and sediments, from as little as 5 milligrams of sample, is presented. The method employs a wet digestion in Teflon 1 beakers using a combination of HF, HClO/j, and HN03.
