Trace bensulfuron‐methyl analysis in tap water, soil, and soybean samples by a combination of molecularly imprinted stir bar sorption extraction and HPLC‐UV

Abstract: A molecularly imprinted stir bar was prepared using bensulfuron-methyl as the template molecule and methacrylic acid as the functional monomer. The imprinted and nonimprinted stir bars were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, nitrogen sorption porosimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry. Extraction time, desorption time and pH value affecting extraction efficiency of the stir bar have been evaluated to achieve the selectively direct preconcentration of the template… Show more

“…The classic synthetic approach has been extensively used for construction of MIP-based stir-bars for selective extraction of sulfa drugs [24] and bensulfuron-methyl [25] from complex samples. However, a novel alternative has recently been proposed for selection of more appropriate reagents for MIP synthesis.…”

“…And the molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs), which possess complementation spatial shape and binding site for a template molecule have gained great attention in the field of analytical chemistry for the past decade [1,2,3] . Because MIPs have predetermined selectivity, recognition and feasibility [4,5] , they have been used in many fields such as chromatography and solid phase extraction [6,7] . In literature, most reports were available where the preparation and application of MIPs limited in non-polar solvent based on hydrogen bonds and other relatively weak interaction [7,8] .…”

“…The MIP-SBSE technology that combines MIP with SBSE plays an important role in the aspects of removing or decreasing sample matrix effect. The combination of MIP-SBSE technology with liquid chromatography has also been reported [ 30 38 ]. However, the combination of MIP-SBSE technology with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry has been rarely reported.…”
