Objective: To investigate the prevalence of and reasons for missed nursing care in oncology units. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted at inpatient oncology units at a private hospital. Eighty-three professionals from the nursing team took part. The MISSCARE instrument and a sociodemographic questionnaire were administered. Simple descriptive statistics were used for analyses. Pearson's chi-square test was used to detect associations between variables. Results: The care tasks missed most frequently were assisting with toileting needs within 5 minutes of a request (57.8%), ambulation 3 times per day or as ordered (44.6%), and turning patients every 2 hours (36.1%). The main reasons for missed care were related to communication: tension or communication breakdowns within the nursing team, and the caregiver responsible off unit or unavailable (both 66.2%). Conclusions: there is a need to develop nursing interventions that neutralize and/or reduce the negative results of this missed care in order to improve the quality of care provided to cancer patients.

Objective: to analyze the facilities and difficulties in the use by nurses of the care flow for patients with chest pain. Methods: descriptive analytical study, with a qualitative approach, conducted with 17 nurses from an emergency care unit in a municipality of the State of Ceara, in 2018. Data collected through documents and interviews, analyzed in a descriptive manner, in absolute and relative frequencies and through content analysis thematic. Results: the use of assistance flow streamlines the process of transferring to referral units, reducing serious and lethal complications in the patient. It considers teamwork and communication as facilitating points in the care of patients with chest pain. The lack of permanent education, physical structure, equipment, transport delay and patient regulation as factors that hamper. Final considerations: investments in physical structure and equipment, in the reorganization of the care network and in permanent education to enable benefits to the service of excellence in health care.

Objetivo: compreender significados e desvelar sentidos da equipe de enfermagem em Centro Cirúrgico nas suas relações interpessoais. Método: estudo de natureza qualitativa com abordagem na fenomenologia. Participaram dezessete profissionais da equipe de enfermagem do Centro Cirúrgico de um Hospital Universitário, em município na Zona da Mata Mineira, nos meses outubro/ 2016 a janeiro/2017. Utilizou-se a entrevista fenomenológica. Os significados expressos foram analisados à luz do pensamento filosófico de Martin Heidegger. Resultados: as relações interpessoais ocorrem com carinho, respeito, atenção e cuidado com o paciente. A relação da equipe de enfermagem é boa, mas existem diferenças e conflitos. Considerações finais: é essencial que a comunicação entre os profissionais seja efetiva a fim de garantir uma assistência adequada. O atendimento ao paciente não sofrerá prejuízos se o trabalho for realizado em equipe e para que seja harmônico é imperativo que a relação interpessoal seja baseada na empatia e no respeito entre as partes.
