are natural in the plants as shown in some of the previous studies. 7 A.muricata L., commonly known as graviola, sirsak, soursop, guanabana, belongs to the Annonaceae family with approximately 130 genera and 2300 species 8,9 . A. muricata is indigenous in the warmest tropical regions in North and South America now widely distributed in the tropical and subtropical parts of the world, including Nigeria, India, Malaysia. 10 A. muricata is an evergreen, terrestrial plant reaching 5-8 m in height with large green leaves together with an open roundish canopy. The fruits are large, green and heart-shaped. 11 Some minerals, vitamins, bioactive chemical substances are found in the fruits, while the other plant parts contain many amounts of bioactive chemical substances such as flavonoids, cyclopeptide annomuricatin, acetogenins, alkaloids, oils and terpens 12,13,14 . These compounds are found to be useful in medicine, this is because some acetogenins have antibacterial, antitumoral, insecticidal, antihelminthic properties. 15,16 It was reported that a broad scope of ethno-medicinal activities in Africa and South America widely use this plant in their medicine.
