Towards Zero Energy Stadiums: The Case Study of the Dacia Arena in Udine, Italy

Abstract: The environmental impacts of sport events have been growing during the last decades, which has led to the organizing associations developing adequate countermeasures to both reduce carbon emissions due to construction and operational stages compensate for the emissions. This work aims at proposing an approach to stadiums energy enhancement that includes strategies largely recognized as effective and applicable to several building typologies (residential, commercial, academic, etc.). The selected case study is … Show more

“…The results of classical Logit and C-Logit calculation are close to 0. It is too early to estimate the situation that p 2 ag is an effective path that no one chooses, which is inconsistent with the assumption of an effective path, so the results of the above two models are unacceptable. Relatively speaking, the results of Improved Logit and Improved C-Logit are more convincing.…”

“…As the backbone of the public transport system, urban rail transit has the characteristics of energy-saving, land-saving, large capacity, non-pollution and safety, which are suitable for the sustainable development of large and medium-sized cities [1][2][3][4]. With the expansion of the construction scale of urban rail transit networks in China, the demand for passenger flow has increased substantially.…”

“…Low-temperature geothermal fields have been exploited over decades for industrial applications in Iceland, Hungary, China, Turkey, France, Germany, Russia, and other countries [2], and in recent times many authors propose the use of geothermal energy standalone or coupled with other renewable energy sources [3][4][5]. As an example, a classical low-temperature geothermal field of meteoric origin, in Kamchatka, Russia, has extracted thermal water since 1966 mainly in the mode of artesian flow to supply numerous swimming pools, district heating of two villages, greenhouse farming, and fish breeding [6].…”

“…Actual civil structures are susceptible to the influence of varying environmental factors and operational conditions such as humidity, wind and moving vehicles, however the most important factor has proven to be temperature [1][2][3]. In recent years, structural health monitoring under environmental variations has become a popular research topic in the field of civil engineering [4][5][6]. Moaveni and Behmanesh [7] investigated the effects of changing ambient temperatures on finite element (FE) model updating of the Dowling Hall Footbridge.…”
