Based on the integrated model of Super-SBM model, spatial Durbin model (SDM) and Grey neural network model, this paper analyzes the panel data of various provinces in China from multiple angles and dimensions. It was found that there were significant differences in eco-efficiency between organic rice production and conventional rice production. The response of organic rice to climate change, the spatial distribution of ecological and economic benefits and the impact on carbon emission were analyzed. The results showed that organic rice planting not only had higher economic benefits, but also showed a rising trend of ecological benefits and a positive feedback effect. This finding highlights the importance of organic rice farming in reducing carbon emissions. Organic rice farming effectively reduces greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide and methane, by improving soil management and reducing the use of fertilizers and pesticides. This has important implications for mitigating climate change and promoting soil health and biodiversity. With the acceleration of urbanization, the increase of organic rice planting area shows the trend of organic rice gradually replacing traditional rice cultivation, further highlighting the potential of organic agriculture in emission reduction, environmental protection and sustainable agricultural production. To this end, it is recommended that the Government implement a diversified support strategy to encourage technological innovation, provide guidance and training, and raise public awareness and demand for organic products. At the same time, private sector participation is stimulated to support the development of organic rice cultivation through a public-private partnership model. Through these measures, further promote organic rice cultivation, achieve the dual goals of economic benefits and environmental benefits, and effectively promote the realization of double carbon emission reduction targets.

With the need to fulfil the rising food demands of the increasing population, the agriculture sector faces a huge challenge. The issue is compounded by climatic change, severe shortage of water, increasing salinity, habitat vulnerability and pollution amongst others. Considerable emphasis worldwide is focused on research aimed to sustain as well increase agricultural productivity. The present study focuses on systematically mapping the thrust areas of research related to sustainable agriculture based on search results from SCOPUS database. The retrieved data was analysed using VOS viewer application program to create network maps based on term co-occurrence analysis. The analysis further provides insight into the most active authors, countries, institutions as well as citations. A total of 12,261 documents were retrieved. A significant increase in the number of publications was seen in the last decade. The retrieved documents were contributed by authors belonging to 156 countries and had an average of 6.24 citations per document with an h-index of 40. Cluster analysis highlighted three focus areas of research- (1) sustainable agriculture (2) factors affecting crop yield and (3) basic research into plant growth, metabolism, development and aging. The underlying principle of all the research programs pertain to the use of innovative technologies and judicious use of resources for maximal production with due importance to environmental, economic and social aspects.

To meet the United Nations sustainable development goals (UN-SDGs) and the European Green Deal, plant biostimulants have become a necessity in agriculture. In particular, seaweed-based biostimulants have received a greater acceptance for their several benefits in crop growth and yield. This study evaluates the effects foliar applications based on vegetables and brown algae extract (Ascophyllum nodosum (L.) Le Jol., on grapes and olive yield in two field experiments in the Apulia region known for its modern agricultural sector. In particular, grape-growing and olive production. At harvest, the yield performances were determined. The results highlighted that the crop responses differed in grape and olive orchards. The biostimulant application determined significant increases in bunch development (+ 9.5%) and bunch weight (+10%) compared to untreated control. In the olive orchard, the yield was not significantly influenced by biostimulant application, whereas we observed quality improvement in olive oil in treated plants compared with the control. To better understand the mechanisms behind this difference, the research concludes by suggesting pursuing in-depth studies and high scientific and technical proficiency to determine and optimise the rates and timing of applications.
