Towards QoS-Oriented SLA Guarantees for Online Cloud Services

Abstract: Abstract-Cloud Computing provides a convenient means of remote on-demand and pay-per-use access to computing resources. However, its ad hoc management of quality-of-service and SLA poses significant challenges to the performance, dependability and costs of online cloud services. The paper precisely addresses this issue and makes a threefold contribution. First, it introduces a new cloud model, the SLAaaS (SLA aware Service) model. SLAaaS enables a systematic integration of QoS levels and SLA into the cloud. It… Show more

“…The need for a managing guaranteed Service Level Agreement becomes larger in the last years. Authors in [13] proposes a new Cloud Model, entirely based on the provision of Cloud services which fulfill measured properties at run-time. Model Driven Engineering (MDE) Techniques sounds good to reach the goal of SLA verification and monitoring since they cover all the life cycle of the services (from design to run-time).…”

“…The model is formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem. In [20], a cloud-based SLA model is proposed that describes the SLA between cloud services and their users by defining QoS guarantees. A SLA model for each cloud services is introduced and a new SLA language is developed for this purpose.…”
