Towards process lines for agent-oriented requirements engineering

Abstract: Agent-oriented software products are becoming increasingly complicated, and the competitive market is forcing the producers to reduce time-to-market and increase the quality of the software produced. Therefore, developers have come to realize the need for more reliable and efficient agent-oriented software development processes (methodologies) which address the specific needs of each and every project. Software Process Lines provide a solution to this problem by using Process Line Engineering concepts for inst… Show more

“…These problems will affect the reproducibility of the results of a change. Some researchers emphasize that using the agent-oriented process to improve software productivity may be a novel model in requirement change management (RCM) [12][13][14]. Bendakir et al develop an agent-oriented approach based on the definition of the process covering all the necessary activities for an effective RCM process [15].…”

“…Research on software product lines is abundant, and SPL Engineering (SPLE) approaches can indeed help ameliorate some of the deficiencies found in SPrLE approaches. For instance, multi-stage configuration is currently employed in SPLE for managing configuration complexity, and it can benefit existing SPrLE approaches as well [35][36][37]; furthermore, some of the tools used in SPLE, such as FeatureIDE [38], have been successfully employed in some SPrLE approaches (e.g., [39]). However, existing model-driven SPLE approaches (such as [40][41][42][43]) are not mature yet, and the problems listed above are observed in these approaches as well.…”
