Abstract:Chemically-fueled chemical reaction networks (CRNs) are key in controlling dissipative self-assembly. Having catalysts gating fuel consumption for both the activation and deactivation chemistry of (assembly-prone) monomers and controlling the catalytic activity with an external stimulus would provide better control over where, when, and how long self-assembled structures can form. Here we achieve light control over monomer activation and subsequent assembly into supramolecular fibers, and partial light control… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
