Towards Collaborative Content Management and Version Control for Structured Mathematical Knowledge

Abstract: Abstract. We propose an infrastructure for collaborative content management and version control for structured mathematical knowledge. This will enable multiple users to work jointly on mathematical theories with minimal interference. We describe the API and the functionality needed to realize a cvs-like version control and distribution model. This architecture extends the cvs architecture in two ways, motivated by the specific needs of distributed management of structured mathematical knowledge on the Interne… Show more

“…Version control system for documents can be used to keep track of dates of multiple submissions of the same document. In addition to automatic checking, members can be encouraged by community managers to periodically review their submissions to the KMS and make sure that they are current and delete the obsolete, inconsistent entries (Damodaran & Olphert, 2000;Kohlhase & Anghelache, 2004).…”

“…Translation between the sources in terms of both logic and language would be useful, but appropriate services would be needed to do the translation. These present a further set of MKM tools necessary for good mathematical assistance [25].…”

“…Furthermore, we have to take stock of the various (sub)-relations of the substance equivalences. In [KA03], we have studied how (rather low-level, technical) substance equivalences interact with distribution and versioning of mathematical knowledge and documents. We will have to extend this to the semantic substance equivalences discussed here; [Hut04] goes first steps into this direction.…”
