“…In common with these systems, the architecture presented in this paper uses an ontology and rule‐base to personalize health information. Two of the systems (Chen et al ., ; Chammas et al ., ) provide diabetes‐related health information that is focused on the current needs of a diabetic patient. Our architecture also tailors the education to the specific health needs of each patient, however, we do not concentrate on a particular aspect of diabetes or obesity; instead, we provide information on a range of pertinent patient experiences such as symptoms, complications and treatments.…”

“…Proceedings of the 51 st Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences | 2018 URI: http://hdl.handle.net/10125/50282 ISBN: 978-0-9981331-1-9 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) and B). The decision to stay outside artificial intelligence algorithms for performing reasoning, was based on our previous experiences of running SWRL rules for performing reasoning as a software engineering solution (23,24,25,26,27). Therefore the deployment of Semantic Web Technologies (SWT) (28) and their languages: OWL (29) and SWRL (30) has become our obvious choice.…”

“…In addition to efforts to treat diabetic foot ulcers with the aid of telecare or m-health (Boell et al, 2014;Clemensen et al, 2005Clemensen et al, , 2008Wrobel and Najafi, 2010), monitoring state of health of diabetic feet (Boell et al, 2014;Chammas et al, 2013;Mueller et al, 1989;Prompers et al, 2008;Wang et al, 2014) and education of health professionals on the problem (Snyder and Hanft, 2009), in accordance with the facts, represent other useful means to aid diabetic foot.…”
