On the other hand, this choice may well reflect the inadequacies of that system and the generally poor quality of monitoring reports (Cole, Coats and Lenten, 1987; 6 Edwards and Metcalfe, 1988)7 That this was the top choice of the post-foundation tutors may relate to the fact that the vast majority of them have taught in the OU system for several years. Having had opportunities in the past to discuss teaching skills and share experiences with colleagues, they now appear to be prepared to move on to discussing their performance with students.…”
