Toward mobile Internet‐based layered vehicular networks with efficient access management

Abstract: Vehicular networks have been considered as an important part of realizing the ubiquitous mobile Internet services in the near future. This puts forward the challenge of providing more access opportunities and wireless resources to meet the increasing QoS requirements from various applications. Traditional vehicular ad hoc networks afford the access to Internet by dedicated roadside units. In order to resolve the problems resulting from limited RSUs, insufficient resources and unsatisfied user experience, we pr… Show more

“…Device‐to‐device (D2D) communication refers to the technology that enable user equipments (UEs) to facilitate high data rate local service without an infrastructure of base station (BS) . The growing demands for higher data rate communication attracted the introduction of D2D communications in the long‐term evolution‐advanced . The D2D communication in cellular spectrum assisted by a network infrastructure can be used for various deployment scenarios.…”

“…Being in charge of road-side transportation authority (RTA), a CA is generally authorized by governments. Restrained by road side unit (RSU) [5][6][7], the RTA manages user verification and issues the session key, while users can apply session keys for communicating with RSU. In order to secure such system, the session key should be updated regularly.…”
