A concept map is deemed a useful teaching and learning tool. It offers many potential advantages over just representing the students’ knowledge and understanding during learning, and have been widely used to support learning. Kit-Build concept map is one learning framework that incorporate digital concept map for its learning activities. Learning with Kit-Build concept map has been found to have better learning effects towards students' understanding and knowledge retention. Incorporating Kit-Build concept map into collaborative learning have been reported to have better outcome than the traditional collaborative learning. However, collaborative learning with Kit-Build concept map cannot be accomodated with the current Kit-Build system where learning activity is conducted online. This study presents the design and development of online collaborative learning platform of Kit-Build Concept Map. A prototype of the collaboration system to support collaborative learning with Kit-Build concept map is developed and be evaluated to portray its potential usability for further development and practical use. The result suggested that incorporating Socket.IO as a real-time communication middleware is effective to deliver online collaborative learning features into the Kit-Build system. Preliminary evaluation to the system also suggested that the system has the potential for actual use in supporting distant collaborative learning with Kit-Build concept map.

With the growth of e-services in the past two decades, the concept of web accessibility has been given attention to ensure that every individual can benefit from these services without any barriers. Web accessibility is considered one of the main factors that should be taken into consideration while developing webpages. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 (WCAG 2.0) have been developed to guide web developers to ensure that web contents are accessible for all users, especially disabled users. Many automatic tools have been developed to check the compliance of websites with accessibility guidelines such as WCAG 2.0 and to help web developers and content creators with designing webpages without barriers for disabled people. Despite the popularity of accessibility evaluation tools in practice, there is no systematic way to compare the performance of web accessibility evaluators. This paper first presents two novel frameworks. The first one is proposed to compare the performance of web accessibility evaluation tools in detecting web accessibility issues based on WCAG 2.0. The second framework is utilized to evaluate webpages in meeting these guidelines. Six homepages of Saudi universities were chosen as case studies to substantiate the concept of the proposed frameworks. Furthermore, two popular web accessibility evaluators, Wave and SiteImprove, are selected to compare their performance. The outcomes of studies conducted using the first proposed framework showed that SiteImprove outperformed WAVE. According to the outcomes of the studies conducted, we can conclude that web administrators would benefit from the first framework in selecting an appropriate tool based on its performance to evaluate their websites based on accessibility criteria and guidelines. Moreover, the findings of the studies conducted using the second proposed framework showed that the homepage of Taibah University is more accessible than the homepages of other Saudi universities. Based on the findings of this study, the second framework can be used by web administrators and developers to measure the accessibility of their websites. This paper also discusses the most common accessibility issues reported by WAVE and SiteImprove.

The Internet has revolutionized and became a major option to obtain information. The complete faith of any individual or organization depends on the official website they are using. Therefore, it is the duty of organizations to provide a website design environment in such a way that even a visually disabled person can access the content without any issues. In view of a website content accessibility importance, the present article has reviewed some of the literature to study how the web content accessibility has been done, what architecture they have used, what suggestions they made and the limitations of those studies. The article also studied only the literature that considered W3C WCAG 2.0 guidelines for website evaluation. The main objective of the present article is to summarize the observations of the existing literature and identify the influencing factors on the quality of a website. The present work also studied the various approaches that are implemented by the researchers to evaluate the website quality. Finally, a comparative analysis was made and determined the outcomes as results and made a few discussions to identify some other technical and non-technical barriers if any
