Crayfish are a keystone species of freshwater ecosystems and a successful invasive species. However, their pathogens, including viruses, remain understudied. The aim of this study was to analyze the virome of the invasive signal crayfish (Pacifastacus leniusculus) and to elucidate the potential differences in viral composition and abundance along its invasion range in the Korana River, Croatia. By the high-throughput sequencing of ribosomal RNA, depleted total RNA isolated from the crayfish hepatopancreas, and subsequent sequence data analysis, we identified novel and divergent RNA viruses, including signal crayfish-associated reo-like, hepe-like, toti-like, and picorna-like viruses, phylogenetically related to viruses previously associated with crustacean hosts. The patterns of reads abundance and calculated nucleotide diversities of the detected viral sequences varied along the invasion range. This could indicate the possible influence of different factors and processes on signal crayfish virome composition: e.g., the differences in signal crayfish population density, the non-random dispersal of host individuals from the core to the invasion fronts, and the transfer of viruses from the native co-occurring and phylogenetically related crayfish species. The study reveals a high, previously undiscovered diversity of divergent RNA viruses associated with signal crayfish, and sets foundations for understanding the potential risk of virus transmissions as a result of this invader’s dispersal.

Salah satu aspek yang penting dalam perkembangan kognitif anak salah satunya yaitu berpikir simbolik. Indikator perkembangan kognitif pada anak usia 4-5 tahun yang harus dicapai dalam berpikir simbolik yaitu anak dapat menyebutkan bilangan 1-10, mengetahui beberapa konsep bilangan, anak mengetahui lambang angka dan mengenal lambang huruf. Kemampuan berpikir simbolik pada anak usia 4-5 tahun dapat distimulus dengan kegiatan meronce. Dalam penelitian ini ada 10 anak yang diteliti di Kelompok A Paud Puri Amanah, Karawang. Metode yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan data hasil dari kegiatan observasi yang dilakukan dan wawancara kepada guru. Kegiatan Observasi dilaksanakan saat pembelajaran, dan kegiatan wawancara dilakukan kepada guru kelas dan anak kelas A Paud Puri Amanah. Kegiatan penelitian yang dilakukan pada 10 anak yang diobservasi menemukan fakta bahwa dengan kegiatan meronce dapat menstimulus kemampuan berpikir simbolik pada anak sehingga anak dapat berkembang sesuai harapan (BSH).Dari Hasil Penelitian yang sudah dilakukukan dari hasil stimulus kegiatan meronce dapat dilihat pada indikator kognitif yang sudah dapat dicapai dengan nilai perkembangan sangat baik sebesar 80%dari keseluruahan anak dan sesuai dalam Standar Tingkat Pencapaian Perkembangan Anak (STPPA).

Zink anodes are very importantfor reducing the corrosion rate on underwater surface area of hull plates. Zink anodes are affixed to parts of the vessel that are prone to seawater corrosion. This study aims to find out how much influence the installed current has on the corrosion rate by analyzing the data on the use of zink anodes in the field and the data on the use of zink anodes as a result of calculations so that the use of strong currents installed according to the need will reduce the rate of corrosion. To see the strong influence of current on the rate of corrosion, it takes data on the corrosion rate of the last 5 years from 9 vessels and also the number of zink anodes used each year. From the graph of the results of the calculation of strong current according to the theory and the results of the use of zinc anodes on nine vessels, the results obtained it is clear that the installed current strength must meet the needs of each vessel because it will affect the decrease in corrosion rate. On vessel No.3, an excess current strength of 0.539Amp to 1,386 Amp, a decrease in corrosion rate reaching 0.0317 mm/year in the 5th year. On vessel No. 4, an excess current strength of 0.444 Amp to 1.822 Amp there is a decrease in corrosion rate reaching 0.0138 mm/year in the 5th year. On vessel No. 9, an excess strong current of 4,894 Amp to 5,793 Amp there is a decrease in corrosion rate reaching 0.0371 mm/year in the 5th year.
