Torque ripple minimization of a novel modular stator switched reluctance motor based on direct instantaneous torque control

Abstract: The paper presents a study on the torque performance of a novel switched reluctance motor (SRM) with E-shaped modular stator and segment rotor based on direct instantaneous torque control (DITC). The structure of the machine and the main notion of DITC are first introduced. The corresponding control rules in each inductance region are then described according to the characteristics of asymmetric power converter.
