Topology control in the presence of jammers for wireless sensor networks

Abstract: In this paper, the problem of ensuring packet delivery ratio and high network lifetime in wireless sensor networks in the presence of single or multiple jammers is studied using single-leader-multiple-followers Stackelberg game theory. A topology control scheme is proposed, in which the sink node, which acts as the leader, identifies the set of jamming affected nodes. On the other hand, the sensor nodes, which act as followers, need to decide an optimum transmission power level, while ensuring an optimal set o… Show more

“…QUJDA also ensures that sensor nodes relate with their neighbours to achieve a higher detection rate. A game theory approach has been proposed in [ 24 ] to ensure a high network lifetime and packet delivery ratio during multiple or single jammer attack in WSN using single-leader multiple-followers Stackelberg game theory. This approach, TC-JAM, uses a topological control technique, where the sink node acts as a leader to track nodes that have been affected by jamming attack.…”

“…An adaptive scheme proposed for reducing the jamming effect, while adjusting the minimum contention window in the IEEE 802.11 MAC . TC‐JAM scheme is proposed to ensure the PDR where jammers are avoided and network lifetime is increased in the WSNs . In Jahanshahi et al, the authors proposed to cluster the jammed signals at BS in wireless cellular networks.…”

The jamming detection method itself uses an improved Level Crossing Rate (LCR)-based Doppler shift estimation procedure using only inherent information, which is available in common receivers with moderate hardware requirements.…”
