Topological susceptibility fromNf= 2 + 1 + 1 lattice QCD at nonzero temperature

Abstract: We present results for the topological susceptibility at nonzero temperature obtained from lattice QCD with four dynamical quark flavours. We apply different smoothing methods, including gradient Wilson flow and over-improved cooling, before calculating the susceptibility. It is shown that the considered smoothing techniques basically agree among each other, and that there are simple scaling relations between flow time and the number of cooling/smearing steps. The topological susceptibility exhibits a surprisi… Show more

“…An extended range of T has been explored in ref. [73] in the presence of twisted mass Wilson fermions, reporting a behavior similar to that observed in this study, although with larger values of the quark masses (corresponding to a pion mass m π ∼ 370 MeV). The comparison is performed in figure 8, and shows a reasonable JHEP03(2016)155 agreement if results from ref.…”

“…In [34] such lattice definition of topological charge density was used for studying the topological susceptibility on the same ensembles. The results of [34] indicate that all relevant topological sectors are correctly sampled without topological freezing.…”

“…In addition to that, the temperature dependence of the topological susceptibility was analyzed. First N f = 2 + 1 + 1 results appeared in a few conference proceedings [17,18] but this part has remained unfinished since then. An almost up-to-date summary of the tmfT results was given by Florian Burger and Michael in [19] to which I would like to refer the reader for further details.…”
