Abstract:A map f : X → Y between topological spaces is called weakly discontinuous if each subspace A ⊂ X contains an open dense subspace U ⊂ A such that the restriction f |U is continuous. A bijective map f : X → Y between topological spaces is called a weak homeomorphism if f and f −1 are weakly discontinuous. We study properties of topological spaces preserved by weakly discontinuous maps and weak homeomorphisms. In particular, we show that weak homeomorphisms preserve network weight, hereditary Lindelöf number, dim… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
