Topical tasks of psychological support of adults with disabilities in the context of the specifics of their life trajectory

Abstract

<jats:p>The article is devoted to the study of phenomenology of psychological problems of adults with disabilities. An attempt is made to classify problems in the context of life trajectories analysis. The study identified three variants of life trajectories of persons with disabilities and identified the most important tasks of psychological care in each case. Important goals of psychological work are reassessment and positive reinterpretation of negative life events, their understanding and reconsideration, search for ways to reduce the emotional significance of negative events. It is important to train respondents to focus on the present moment of life – "here and now". It is important to work on the conflict of control over life. It is necessary to assist in emotional discharge, training techniques of self-support and relaxation.</jats:p>
