Tooth angulation and dental arch perimeter—the effect of orthodontic bracket prescription

Abstract: Bracket prescriptions with greater angulation led to an increased use of space within the dental arch, mainly in the radicular region. The consequence of this radicular angular displacement will need to be further investigated.

“…Also, planning treatment by accurate examination of root angulations is expected to reduce the amount of relapse. In individuals with UCLP, mesiodistal tooth angulation symmetry is also important in terms of regulating the relationship between the dentition and the basal bone (Pontes et al, 2015).…”

“…This fact provides the possibility for reliable bone graft assessments at every treatment stage. Moreover, the central incisors have lower angulation values than the canines in different orthodontic prescriptions [33]. Furthermore, the influence on the measurements of the possible excessive mesial angulation of the canine after orthodontic space closure is eliminated with this approach.…”
