Abstract:Infections are common in plasma cell cancer multiple myeloma (MM) due to disease-related immune deficiencies and cancer treatment. Myeloma cells express Toll-like receptors (TLRs), and TLR activation has been shown to induce proliferative and pro-survival signals in cancer cells.
