To PhD or not to PhDThat is the question Whether it should be acceptable to take other routes in academeOr by acquiescing reject them.This article questions whether the PhD remains the most relevant advanced qualification for the majority of academic staff in Australian universities given the changes in the environment of the universities over the past two decades.
