“…The TL glow curves of samples MP, GP, MT1 and GT1 are composed of a broad peak with maxima lying in 490-540 K. The broad TL glow curve consists of a large number of overlapped glow features, inferring the presence of multiple close lying trap states within the forbidden gap. Similar broad glow feature with maxima around 452 K was observed in carbon incorporated MgAl 2 O 4 powders by the electron gun system in which the prompt heat generated by the electrons created multiple traps [26,56]. The reason behind the single broad glow curve in our samples may be the generation of an enormous amount of heat due to which the defects did not get sufficient time to stabilize and hence, the formation of closely spaced energy levels over a large energy range provided a broad TL signal.…”

“…The undoped and Ce doped MgAl 2 O 4 samples, prepared in a reduced environment and irradiated with UV-rays, have shown two TL peaks at 41 • C and 238 • C corresponding to electron and hole traps, respectively [25]. Raj et al [26] synthesized MgAl 2 O 4 samples by the gel-combustion method using glycine as a fuel and doped carbon by electron-gun and thermo-chemical methods. The undoped sample irradiated with γ-rays did not show any TL peak, while a broad glow curve consisting of several overlapped TL peaks in 273-673 K range was observed with carbon doping [26].…”
