Titanium Tetrafluoride (TiF4) in the Treatment of Dental Erosion

Abstract: Dental erosion is a multifactorial pathology that leads to dental substrate loss caused by its exposure to acids of non-bacterial origin. The process begins with a superficial demineralization of enamel, which, when continuously exposed to erosive solutions, can even lead to dentin exposure, causing aesthetic/functional problems to patients, besides increasing the chances of dentin hypersensitivity. Fluoride ResumoA erosão dental é uma patologia multifatorial que leva a uma perda de substrato dental causada… Show more

“…Probably, the words animals/cattle/humans have been shown because of the bovine teeth commonly used in several in vitro [30,31] and in situ [11,32] studies. Also, the words microscopy/electron/scanning are due to the most common outcomes assessment for study analysis in this field [11,19,[32][33][34][35][36][37][38].…”

“…The prevention goal was more prevalent among the studies approach and it was performed especially for tooth erosion [15,[19][20][21]38,[42][43][44][45][46]. Regarding that public politics are focused on prevention and TIF4 has a preventive approach by forming a Ti-coat over enamel, maybe this material could have a greater response in prevention than in therapeutical manners for both dental caries and erosion.…”
