Abstract:Here we describe a mutation in the mitochondrial complex I assembly factor (Evolutionarily conserved signalling intermediate in Toll pathway) ECSIT which reveals tissue specific requirements for this factor in complex I assembly. Mitochondrial complex I assembly is a multi-step process dependant on assembly factors that organise and arrange the individual subunits, allowing for their incorporation into the complete enzyme complex. We have identified an ENU induced mutation in ECSIT (N209I) that exhibits a prof… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
