Abstract:The inhibition of angiotensin II (AngII) by use of angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor or AngII receptor blocker is effective for prevention of the progression of renal diseases including IgA nephropathy (IgAN). AngII plays a variety of biological roles via AngII receptors. Through AngII type 1 receptor (AT1R), AngII induces vasoconstriction, cellular proliferation, extracellular matrix production and fibrosis, while it leads vasodilatation, apoptosis and inhibition of cell proliferation through AngI… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
