Show more

“…PS estimates obtained for MST (Table 4) ranged from 5.7 BU to 14.4 BU, according to the model and method used. These estimates are consistent with work by Gonçalves et al (2009), who used plots of 13 seedlings, of which five were used for evaluations; Meneghelli et al (2016), using plots of 10 seedlings; Aparecido et al (2017), who used plot consisting of three rows with nine plants in each, adopting the five central plants as useful area, and lower than those used by Berilli et al (2014) and Oliveira and Miglioranza (2015), who used 30 seedlings, and by Alves et al (2016) and Meneghelli et al (2017) who used plots with 20 seedlings.…”

“…Mesquita et al (2014) reported that the commercial biofertilizer Microgeo ® did not cause qualitative or yield benefits for two melon cultivars. The biofertilization using Microgeo did not altered the plant initial growth, plant height, steam diameter and yield among other coffee crop parameters in the first yield year (Aparecido et al, 2017). Gama et al (2014) studied de effect of Microgeo in the melon yield and soluble solids content.…”

“…Moreover, the biofertilizer application improves the soil physical properties (Galbiatti et al, 1996). The biofertilizer features described above sustain the fact that it can help increasing the yield of crops, although some researches are controversial (Mesquita et al, 2014;Aparecido et al, 2017;Kumar et al, 2014;Araujo et al, 2016). It should also be noted that biofertilizers are much more economically attractive than conventional chemical fertilizers (Freitas et al, 2015).…”

“…Crop implementation is one of the most important steps in growing perennial plants. Coffee planting errors-lack of uniformity in plant distribution-can harm future management operations [6]. Indeed, more suitable techniques contribute to uniform crop formation, making its management more efficient [7].…”
