Abstract: Background Hepatitis B virus (HBV) causes persistence in a subgroup of patients and impaired myeloid dendritic cells (mDCs) functions have been observed in these patients, and the effect could be remedied by treatment with interferon-α (IFN-α)-based antiviral therapies.
